We are grateful for your interest in helping families! Due to our COVID-19 protocols, we are not currently interviewing and training new individual volunteers for our Ronald McDonald House.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you check back here or follow us on Facebook for more information.

We are excited to announce the opening of our first Ronald McDonald Family Room in Oconomowoc, WI at Rogers Behavioral Health in early fall 2021. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the Family Room, please check back in May for the volunteer application.

Family Room Volunteers will help to create a warm and welcoming environment for guest families and visitors in the Family Room at Rogers Behavioral Health’s – Ladish Co. Foundation Center in Oconomowoc, WI. Volunteers will assist with greeting and checking-in families and maintaining a clean, well-organized and adequately stocked Family Room. One four hour shift is required every other week with at least a one year commitment. Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

Perform a variety of light housekeeping, organizational duties, welcoming guests and assisting with check-outs. One three-hour shift every other week is required with at least a six month commitment.

Perform a variety of light housekeeping, organizational duties, welcoming guests and assisting with check-outs. One three-hour shift every other week is required with at least a one year commitment.

Kitchen keepers perform a variety of duties to ensure that the House kitchens are cleaned properly, well-organized and stocked with the right equipment and supplies. One three-hour shift every other week is required with at least a one year commitment.

Office assistants perform a variety of duties such as answering phones, greeting and welcoming guests, and office work. One four hour shift every other week is required with at least a one year commitment.

Transport guests to and from the hospital, grocery store and complete other errands as needed. One four-and-a-half hour shift is required per month with at least a one year commitment. Must be 21 years of age or older to apply.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

Group volunteer projects are a great way to work together and make a difference in the community. Whether you are a corporate team, student group, church group, private business or social group there are many ways to get involved with the Ronald McDonald House.

Around the House Projects

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at RMHC Eastern WI. At this time, group projects are unavailable. We appreciate your patience and ask that you check back for future openings.

We work continually to ensure every time a family enters the House they are welcomed into a clean environment that is reassuring and safe for their child receiving care at partner hospitals. We are in need of groups to help keep our House clean, organized and welcoming for our families. Projects are currently based on needs at the time of the request. Projects may include:
  • Deep cleaning kitchens
  • Cleaning dining rooms
  • Picking up garbage/debris in parking structure and surrounding areas
  • Organizing storage spaces
  • Deep cleaning guest rooms
  • Replacing shower curtains
  • Replacing linens in guest rooms
  • Wiping off outdoor seating areas in Secret Garden
  • Dusting and vacuuming stairwells and hallways
  • Sanitizing play areas
  • Cleaning behind kitchen appliances
  • Sanitizing guest laundry rooms
  • Moving furniture

To better serve our families, these projects are reserved for Friday afternoons, for individuals 14 years of age (with adult supervision) or older and for groups of 5-15 people.

Youth Service Projects

Off-site projects can be arranged for individuals 13 years of age and under. Contact Olivia Kresse, Volunteer Services Coordinator, for ways youth groups can get involved.
