“You’ll have no concerns if you buy from Kerns”, is the jingle that plays on the radio ad for Kerns Carpet One. We are here to tell you that jingle is one hundred percent spot on. Our relationship with Kerns Carpets began in 2012 when Bill Kerns, President of Kerns Carpet One, visited our House. We knew that Kerns had a great reputation of providing exceptional products and service. When the time came to look at updating some of our flooring, Bill made countless trips to the House to drop off samples and took the time to educate us on all of our options. It would be safe to say that over the past 5 years, Bill has become our flooring expert who we consult with often.
A member of the national Carpet One Network of independent floor covering dealerships, Kerns Carpet’s reputation for providing expert advice and service is a family tradition. It started with a foundation laid in Milwaukee by Milton Kerns who opened the family’s first store in 1935. The 82-year-old business that covers Four generations continues to rank among southeastern Wisconsin’s most visited floor covering retailers.
Today, Henry “Pat” Kerns serves as Chairman of the Board and Bill Kerns as President for all Kerns Carpet’s metro-Milwaukee locations. The only Milwaukee area flooring retailer to feature Beautiful Insurance Guarantee – if you don’t love it, they’ll replace it and pay for the labor…available on select products. The Kerns family and its staff’s focus is on furnishing the ultimate in customer satisfaction.
We are incredibly appreciative for the support that we receive from Bill and Kern’s Carpets. Not only do they support our flooring needs, they continue to sponsor many of our fundraising events and most recently donated custom logo mats that are located in all of our entryways. “Kerns Carpet One wholeheartedly supports the mission of RMHC. The care and support the House provides is consistent with our long-standing belief that families have access to affordable housing while their kids are being treated at area hospitals. We have partnered with RMHC on a number of projects to make the experience of being away from home more enjoyable and less stressful. We look forward to continuing our practice of being involved and supporting RMHC any way that we can.” – Bill Kerns
Their generosity and willingness to support our mission has gone well beyond navigating the world of flooring options. Thank you Kerns Carpet One for being one of our loyal supporters!
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) takes pride in keeping families close to their children while they are being treated for a medical condition at an area hospital. And keeping families connected is just as important. Thanks to Kwikboost, we have been able to help families stay connected by offering a charging station in our House.
KwikBoost has been around since 2010. The company started as a side project born from an inkling they had about how smartphones were going to take over the world. They now charge tens of millions of devices every year. Their products and services allow our families to stay connected.
We contacted KwikBoost in 2016 to see if they could help us find a solution to help our families keep their devices charged. Often times families do not have a charger with them for one reason or another; hence, the need for a charging station was imminent. Not only did Paul Mecca, President of KwikBoost, offer a solution, he created a custom charging station and shipped it directly to our House at no cost. “KwikBoost believes that charging stations should be accessible everywhere, particularly in healthcare environments. We are proud to partner with RMHC as they support families during medical situations.”
KwikBoost strives to provide support in a way where our people can see their impact. They invest in the people and the projects they believe in. We are incredibly grateful that they believe in the work we are doing at RMHC as we strive to keep families close…and connected.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has a long history of investing in the Milwaukee community and in Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin. We are grateful for the partnership we have shared for the past 19 years. That partnership provides complimentary ads each quarter that assist us in sharing the impact our mission has on the families we serve and allows us to promote our annual events. Because of the paper’s relationship with Mc Donald’s Corporation, a portion of the proceeds from every newspaper sold at McDonald’s restaurants in our area is donated back to our House. This provides important financial support that allows us to keep families close when they need it most, when their child is being treated at area hospitals. We are proud to have had long time sponsorship from the newspaper for both our annual Golf Classic and our Gala as well. It all adds up to $424,622.00 of support, but it’s more than that, it’s knowing we have a shared commitment to making our community stronger, one family at a time.
